1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using On the River. It forms part of our Terms of Service. By using the service you agree to this AUP. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach it.

2. Lawful use only

You must use On the River only for lawful purposes and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the United Kingdom and any jurisdiction from which you access the service. You must not use the service in any way that violates criminal law, civil law, or regulatory requirements.

3. Prohibited content and conduct

You must not use the service to create, upload, or distribute content, or to conduct yourself, in any way that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Infringes any intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person or entity
  • Impersonates any person or entity or misrepresents your affiliation
  • Contains or promotes child sexual abuse material or exploitation
  • Promotes violence, self-harm, or discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age
  • Constitutes or facilitates fraud, money laundering, or other financial crime
  • Spreads malware, viruses, or other harmful code, or attempts to gain unauthorised access to our or any third party's systems or data

4. Service integrity

You must not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from the service except to the extent permitted by applicable law
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access controls, usage limits, or security measures
  • Overload, disrupt, or impair the operation of the service or our infrastructure
  • Use automated means (such as bots, scrapers, or scripts) to access or use the service unless we have expressly permitted it
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service or its output in a manner inconsistent with your agreement with us

5. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected breaches of this AUP and may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and report activity to law enforcement or regulators as we consider appropriate. We are not obliged to monitor content but may do so.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
